Armando is a photographer based out of Denver. He was born and raised in California’s central coast. At the age of 20, he joined the Air Force, serving for 6 years, including a 180-day tour in Balad, Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. After his service, Armando graduated with a political science degree from Metro State University.
Armando is a versatile photographer who specializes in events coverage and photojournalism. His passion, however, resides in his street-level photography where he is able to connect to his subjects and immerse himself within different cultures.
During his time in Denver, Armando helped co-found Theyshootn, a collective of photographers and videographers. As a group, Theyshootn has hosted several visual-based events, including Winter in America – an exhibit series that brings photography and philanthropy together to speak on topics such as homelessness, drug abuse, and domestic violence from the viewpoint of new up-and-coming artists.
Currently, between his day job with Denver Public Schools and his travels, Armando spends his time documenting the Chicano and lowrider cultures within Denver.
